Linda Lee McMillen passed away on July 26, 2015 after a courageous battle with cancer. Linda was born August 26, 1942 in Compton, California to Flavel B. and Dorothy M. Harris. She was preceded in death by her adored husband, Charles, and is survived by her daughter Jacqueline, sister Betty June Wienke, brother-in-law Thomas Wienke, nephew Todd Wienke and numerous treasured friends. After graduating high school in California’s Antelope Valley, Linda embarked on a Civil Service career with the Air Force before moving to Rochester, New York for several years. After returning to California with her future husband, she held administrative positions with public agencies before she retired to Minden in 1997. Linda was a true “green thumb” and loved to maintain beautiful gardens around her homes. Her hobbies included several arts and crafts, especially sewing and knitting, as well as many travels around the world. Always very social, her retirement years allowed her time to maintain many friendships and her friends were the highlight of her time in Minden. Linda’s beautiful, kind spirit will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A celebration of Linda’s life will be held on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 2:00pm at the Calvary Chapel located at: 1635 Clearview Drive, Carson City.
