Nevada Humane Society will join the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, or ASPCA, and Subaru of America, Inc. for the annual year-end Subaru Share the Love event and celebration.

As part of this national effort, Nevada Humane Society and Michael Hohl Subaru have teamed up to offer adoptions at the Carson City dealership from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

“Thanks to Michael Hohl Subaru, homeless pets from Nevada Humane Society will have the opportunity to find new homes this holiday season at our Hohl 4 the Holidays adoption event,” said Kimberly Wade, senior manager of communications and events for Nevada Humane Society. “Plus, with our Carson City location, we’re able to help even more animals across Northern Nevada and partner with more of the community that is so generously supporting Nevada Humane Society.”

Adoption fees for Saturday’s Hohl 4 the Holidays will be waived on dogs and cats — thanks to Michael Hohl Subaru, who is covering the cost of adoption fees for the event.

All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, services that normally cost more than $240.

For every new Subaru purchased or leased during the Share the Love event, Subaru will donate $250 to the owner’s choice of participating charities, one of which is the ASPCA. The ASPCA will be distributing its donation to support animal welfare organizations and lifesaving programs across the country — Nevada Humane Society is a recipient of one of these grants.

Nevada Humane Society is open for adoptions every day, except Thanksgiving and Christmas, from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Sundays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturdays at two locations — 3770 Butti Way in Carson City and 2825 Longley Lane in Reno.
