It has truly been a wonderful year. The repurpose project is complete and we are expanding our programming and services to the community; some things are obvious like the Lego Club and others are still in the planning stages like some kind of make-space program. It is an exciting time to be directing this library. Happy Holidays to you and yours.
HOLIDAY CELEBRATION/Centerpiece Extravaganza
Wednesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Byron Sorensen will lead a Sing-a-Long at 6 p.m. The centerpiece silent auction closes at 6:30 p.m. Each child will receive a book to keep. Refreshments will be served.
Family Reading Program
Dec. 12 from 10 a.m.-noon: Improve your reading skills while reading stories to your children at this free series featuring books and fun family activities. This program is for parents and children ages 0 through third grade and is sponsored by Northern Nevada Literacy Council and United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra. Food for Fines
Return your overdue library items through Dec. 7 and pay your fine with non-perishable food. Bring one food item for each overdue library item. All food will be donated to the Out of Egypt Food Pantry.
Writer’s Workshop
Are you a writer looking for a place to work with like-minded people? The Churchill County Library is pleased to announce its Writer’s Workshop lead by Sara Dowling. The critique group is lead by Laurel Topken. Meetings are every Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at the Annex, for quiet work, or the library for a more conversational approach. All writers on all levels are welcome to participate. The library has books available on the subject of writing and Sara is prepared with “story starters” should anyone need help beginning. Storytime
Storytime is held each Wednesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. Join us for stories, songs, a craft, and valuable tips to help your child get ready to read. Special Countdown to Noon Party will be held Dec. 30 and Dec. 31.
Lego Club
This popular program is Friday, Dec. 11 from 2-4 p.m. and is for all ages.
