Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on suspicion of trafficking, possession with intent to sell, destroying evidence

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

Carson City

FRIDAY

At 12:48 p.m., Alonso Rangel, 25, of Carson City was arrested on felony trafficking schedule 1-28 or more grams, felony possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and destroying evidence after deputies initiated surveillance near the 400 block of Winnie Lane, as Rangel is allegedly a known drug dealer and gang member. Bail was set at $208,500.

At 7:34 p.m., a 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of criminal contempt after deputies responded to reports of a possibly intoxicated pedestrian near Telegraph and Plaza streets.

At 9:25 p.m., Carlos Conteras, 25, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of a stolen vehicle and two counts of violation of pretrial supervision after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Humbolt and Long Street. At the same incident, a 23-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on contempt of court. Bail for Conteras was set at $18,500 and bail for the woman was set at $650.

At 11:10 p.m., Melissa Carter, 34, of Carson City was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, obstructing an officer, criminal contempt and probation violation after deputies observed two suspicious subjects near the Carson Street Max Casino. Bail was set at $10,000.

SATURDAY

AT 1:44 a.m., Joseph Valle, 23, of Reno, was arrested on suspicion of felony eluding an officer, felony possession of a stolen vehicle, obstructing an officer, possession of drug paraphernalia and criminal contempt after Valle allegedly almost struck a patrol car with his vehicle. Bail was set at $36,500.

At 5:50 a.m., a Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of hit and run property damage and violation of a suspended sentence after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Curry and Washington streets. Bail was set at $2,000.

At 9:25 a.m., a 28-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of accessory to petit larceny, and at 11:36 p.m., a 21-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny, felony failed to register address and violation of bail conditions after deputies responded to reports of two people taking clothing from the Carson Street Kohl’s. The man also was suspected of stealing speakers from the Carson Street Grocery Outlet. Bail for the woman was set at $250 and bail for the man was set at $3,400.

At 10:25 p.m., a 62-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense and driving with a suspended registration after deputies initiated a traffic stop near Carson and Long streets. Bail was set at $1,050.

SUNDAY

At 1:06 p.m., Kevin Shaw, 37, of Carson City, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a controlled substance, felony possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription and felony probation violation after deputies responded to reports of a suspicious vehicle near the Carson Nugget Casino. Bail was set at $8,000.

At 3:25 p.m., Kenneth Council, 51, a transient, and David Roberson, 63, of Carson City, were arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a stolen vehicle after deputies responded to reports of suspicious subjects near Curry Street and Fleischmann Way. Bail for both men was set at $25,000.

At 4:54 p.m., a 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny after deputies responded to reports of a man stealing alcohol near the 900 block of Woodside Drive. Bail was set at $250.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes.
