More than 72,000 Nevadans have enrolled in health insurance through the Nevada Health Link system.
That’s more than double the 35,000 who had enrolled at this time in the open enrollment process last year.
“Thousands of Nevadans are learning they may be eligible for a subsidized health plan and Nevada Health Link is the only resource in the state that can provide consumers with federal assistance to help cover health coverage costs,” said Bruce Gilbert, executive director of the Silver State Health Insurance Exchange.
He said there’s still about six weeks left for people to enroll. The process ends Jan. 31.
Gilbert said throughout the process, many licensed brokers and agents are offering extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays with special “Sign-Up Saturdays” to make the process easier. People needing health insurance are urged to check NevadaHealthLink.com to find a broker or agent in their area or call 885-768-5465 for assistance.
