USDA Rural Development is holding energy workshops to help farmers and rural small business owners learn about how to use the Rural Energy for America Program grant to reduce energy costs.
Grant funding is available for up to 25 percent of the cost to purchase and build alternative energy systems, such as solar, wind and hydro power, or to enhance energy efficiency with new lighting, windows or more efficient HVAC systems.
Video-teleconference workshops will be at Farm Service Centers in Fallon and the Rural Development office in Carson City. Workshops will be from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 19 and March 30 and 1 to 2:30 p.m. Feb. 11 and March 8.
