Yogurt Beach is coming to Carson City to locate a new outlet in a shopping area on North Carson Street.

Yogurt Beach 2, another offering by two Reno men, is going to locate in space at 3328 N. Carson St., where unit No. 5 already is undergoing renovation to convert the space for the planned dessert and snack spot. The businessmen bringing their yogurt place to the capital city are Jason Fairman and Richard Wenschlag, who said through a marketing spokesperson “there could be some more on the horizon” in Northern Nevada.

Teresa Clark, the marketing contact, said the yogurt spot in the former Kmart shopping center should be opening some time during the first two weeks of April. It will be just south of Brugo’s Pizza parlor and near the Starbucks coffee shop located in that center.

“On any given day,” the Beach Yogurt trio said in a news release, “24 flavors and 50 toppings are available to create your very own dessert masterpiece.” Flavors include a range encompassing non-fat to low fat varieties, as well as sugar free and gluten free options. Toppings also cover a gamut of choices, among them fruit, nuts, granola and candy or cookie toppings.

“At Yogurt Beach, we only buy the highest quality plain yogurt and custard, and add in our own flavorings,” said the company spokespersons. Examples are real coffee in coffee yogurt, real chocolate in offerings with that flavor and actual cake batter in the cake batter-flavored yogurt.

“We take great pride in what we’re doing,’ said Clark.

The Gardnerville/Minden outlet is located at 1342 U.S. Highway 395 North. There also are several Yogurt Beach outlets in the Reno/Sparks area. Yogurt Beach bills itself as providing places that feature a beach-oriented theme where customers can stop for “a 10 minute vacation.”
