Fox Carlton Hughes passed away peacefully on January 13th, 2015. He was surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. Fox was born May 19, 1929 in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. He moved to California in 1960 and eventually became a US Citizen. Fox was a multi talented Artist. He was a Writer, Illustrator, Fine art painter, Model maker as well as a Cartoonist. Fox was the Author of the celebrated children’s book, “Rainbow Rhino”. Fox loved to encourage and nurture anyone who sought his guidance. To his family and close friends, Fox was a warm gentle soul, and blessed with a great sense of humor. While both of these great attributes are on display in all of his animated works, his true legacy will always be found in the wisdom of his stories, his letters, and often encouraging words to friends as well as his many loved ones. Foxy loved life and never failed to impart that little bit o’ magic to each of us, making us feel better about ourselves, our troubles, or whatever the future holds. His spirit lives on in our hearts. Fox married Anna Schenk, also known as Peggy, in 1980. They lived in the Bay area in California until 2004 when they moved to Dayton, Nevada where they lived until his passing. Fox is survived by his loving wife, Peggy, his sons, Brock and Graham Hughes who live in Canada; also by his daughters, Robin Searls, Karen Asbell, Barbara Nichols, Babette Stewart, Julie Konicke and by 12 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.
