RENO — Hundreds of students lined up in Reno at a jobs fair at the University of Nevada for a shot at an internship with electric-car maker Tesla Motors.

A Northern Nevada newspaper reports Tesla’s booth was by far the busiest at Wednesday’s career fair that featured more than 49 employers, ranging ranged from the Reno Aces, to the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino and Montreux Golf & Country Club.

Some of the more than 300 students waited in line for three hours to make their brief pitch to Tesla.

The company has started building a giant lithium battery factory it calls a gigafactory about 15 miles east of Sparks.

Tesla college recruiter Tony Sciarra says they came across a few promising candidates and encouraged most of the students to apply online.
