Local law enforcement including the Carson City Sheriff’s Office have received grant money from the Department of Public Safety to fund programs looking for impaired drivers and motorcycle riders.
CCSO Sgt. Scott McDaniel said the money will pay overtime for deputies to be out looking for impaired drivers. He said Carson City will join other area law enforcement agencies in the effort called Joining Forces, which will run through March.
In addition, future events are planned to focus on pedestrian safety, seat belt use, distracted driving and speeding. He said the goal is to improve safety on Nevada’s roads.
