Angela Sikora scored nine points and pulled down seven rebounds in the Dayton girls’ 42-25 loss at home to Spring Creek Friday night.

The Lady Dust Devils played a solid first half, staying within 10 points going into halftime.

“We had a few baskets that should have gone in, which would have been nice momentum-wise,” coach Kelly Frantz said. “We came out flat on the third quarter and even though the girls ramped it up on the fourth, we just couldn’t close the gap on the scoreboard.

“Rebounds were also the key for this game; when we get in and crash the boards, we play so much tougher and as a solid team.”

Makayla Olson contributed eight points, going 2-for-3 on three-pointers. Christi Ricci also had eight points.

“Defensively, we played a great game, all we need to do is rebound and push the ball up the floor,” Frantz said.
