High Sierra Swing Dance Club will offer a series of basic West Coast swing lessons 7:15-8:30 p.m. Wednesdays Jan. 28 to March 4 in the Grand Ballroom at the Brewery Arts Center, 449 W. King St.
Tim Renner, a Reno dance instructor, will teach beginning West Coast swing moves for one hour, which will follow with 15 minutes of supervised practice. Partners are not required. The 6-week session costs $65 per person.
High Sierra Swing Dance Club and Renner will also offer a one-hour lesson in basic West Coast swing at the club’s monthly dance party on Jan. 24 in the Grand Ballroom. Renner teaches the free lesson from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. A social dance follows from 7:30 to 10 p.m.
Partners are not required. The social dance is free for first-time dancers, $7 for members of swing clubs and $10 for nonmembers.
High Sierra Swing Dance Club is a nonprofit that hosts monthly social dances at the Brewery Arts Center and informal swing dances Tuesday evenings at El Charro Avitia.
