Briefly: Outreach centers offering free breakfast

St. John the Apostle Episcopal Outreach Center, 140 Pike St. in Dayton, is offering free breakfast at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Another free breakfast is planned at St. Hugh of Lincoln Episcopal Outreach Center, 4280 U.S. Highway 50 in Silver Springs, from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, when attendees are invited to share about their holiday traditions and memories.


Free digital learning classes

The following is a schedule of free hour-long classes offered in January at @ Two Digital Learning Center at the Carson City Library.

Introduction to Excel will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday.

A class about keyboard and mouse will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday.

Computers for beginners will be at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Email with Gmail will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 13.

A class about OverDrive will be at 3 p.m. Jan. 14.

Facebook for beginners will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 15.

A session about using resume templates will be at 4 p.m. Jan. 20.

Introduction to Windows 7 will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 22.

Introduction to Word will be at 3 p.m. Jan. 27.

Introduction to PowerPoint will be at 11 a.m. Jan. 28.

A class in Spanish about computers will be at 2 p.m. Jan. 29.

Natives and Newcomers meet Thursday

Marv Richardville will present songs and stories at Carson City Natives and Newcomers’ next meeting at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Grandma Hattie’s Restaurant, 2811 S. Carson St.

Entertainment will be followed by a meeting of the group’s local charity organization.
