A regional community coalition is hosting a Feb. 7 fundraiser it describes as “a fun night of good food and Bunco for a great cause.”
Doors open at 5:30 p.m., dinner is at 6 and Bunco begins at 7 at the Dayton Community Center, 170 Pike Street. Cost is $25, which includes dinner and dessert.
Lisa Selmi, one of the organizers of the event, explains, “Your ticket for dinner and Bunco will help fund much-needed dental services for children in the area. Sign up as a single player or with a group of 12. Sign up early as space is limited to the first 120 players and tickets are going fast.”
Everyone who will bring something to help “save a smile” will also be given a raffle ticket. Donate tooth brushes, tooth paste, floss or anything that helps with oral health and get a raffle ticket for a prize.
Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey has partnered with Lyon County School District and dozens of direct service groups to form a “Health Services Hub” that’s increasing access to dental, medical, vision, mental health and preventative health care service in rural communities in Lyon and Storey regions.
The Bunco fundraiser will help area children to receive dental hygiene and healthy eating lessons, and needed services such as sealants, cleanings, fillings, treatment of abscesses, etc.
For more information and registration forms, contact Lisa or Wendy at Healthy Communities Coalition of Lyon and Storey at 246-7550. Registration forms and payment can be dropped at the Dayton Community Center, 170 Pike Street, or mailed to Healthy Communities Coalition, P.O. Box 517, Dayton 89403.
