Carson City Sheriff’s Office: Man arrested on burglary

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All are considered innocent until proven guilty in court.

THURSDAY

At 8:00 a.m., Carolyn LaPlaunt, 41, of Battle, Mont., was arrested on suspicion of felony uttering a forged instrument warrant. Bail was set at $7,500.

At noon, Ian Simmons, 37, of Las Vegas, was arrested on suspicion of felony fugitive from justice. Bail was set at $10,000.

At 1:56 p.m., a 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies responded to reports of a man shoplifting near the 2700 block of Highway 50. Bail was set at $1,250.

At 2:36 p.m., Eric Weber, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony burglary and felony fraudulent use of a credit card after deputies located a man near the 1700 block of Carson Street who was suspected of taking an individual’s purse days prior. Bail was set at $25,000.

At 4:50 p.m., Aprille Knight, 23, a transient, was arrested on suspicion of felony possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, felony providing false information to avoid prosecution and contempt of court after deputies attempted to locate a man in the Carson Street McDonalds. Bail was set at $20,000.

At 5:16 p.m., a 40-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of DUI-first offense alcohol and impeding traffic after deputies responded to a traffic collision near 5th and Stewart streets. Bail was set at $1,025.

At 5:17 p.m., a 33-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of petit larceny and violation of a suspended sentence after deputies responded to reports of a woman taking clothing from the Market Street Walmart. Bail was set at $1,250.

FRIDAY

At 12:20 a.m., a 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery-first offense. Bail was set at $3,000.

The Nevada Appeal only names people arrested on suspicion of felonies and violent crimes. Carson City Secret Witness will pay up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of individuals committing crimes. Anyone with information is asked to call 775-322-4900.
