The Brewery Arts Center is kicking off its summer membership drive with a concert by Delta Nove, a band that borrows American funk and rock, Caribbean calypso and reggae, and Brazilian samba drumming influences, at 7 p.m. Friday in the Performance Hall. With more than a decade of experience on the road, Delta Nove blends drums, guitars, horns and electronic colors, calling to mind styles of Earth, Wind & Fire and the Grateful Dead.
Delta Nove, listed as a Top 10 Band to See by Jambase, has won Best Live Act for two consecutive years at the Orange County Music Awards. The band tours nationally, performing with Ozomatli, String Cheese Incident, Burning Spear, Poncho Sanchez, Dr. John, Michael Franti and Spearhead and The Funky Meters.
General admission costs $15; admission for seniors and students is $12 and admission for BAC members is $10. Tickets are available for purchase at Breweryarts.org or at the Artisan Store, 449 W. King St.
The Brewery Arts Center’s Performance Hall is at 511 W. King St. For more information, call the Brewery Arts Center office at 775-883-1976.
