Carson City Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying subjects who caused extensive damage to the Edmonds Sports Complex last week.

Deputies responded to incidents on June 24 and July 15 and 16 of trees being cut down with branches removed, tables overturned and broken, trash distributed across the park, a set of bleachers damaged and several vents in the public restrooms damaged or destroyed. Extensive damage was done, Sgt. Daniel Gonzales estimates that each tree vandalized will cost $1,500-$2,000.

Deputies believe juveniles are involved in the incidents. Five juveniles were questioned by police last Friday after they discovered pictures of the damaged landscape on the juveniles’ Twitter and Facebook accounts.

According to Sheriff Ken Furlong, the investigation is being slowed down by a lack of cooperation by the parents of one of the juveniles.

Two of these incidents have not been solved and the Sheriff’s Office is looking for anyone who may have any information on the vandalism and who was involved.

If anyone has information pertaining to this, please contact the investigation division at 775-283-7871.
