Carson City court clerk, Little League agent arrested on statutory sexual assault with a minor

A Carson City court clerk and Little League official was arrested Friday night on suspicion of statutory sexual assault with a minor.

Deputies discovered Armando Navarro, 25, in a car with a 15-year-old male after responding to a report of shots fired in the area of Cottonwood Drive and Cedar Street at 10:57 p.m. Deputies found the two in Navarro’s car when they spotted movement in the vehicle and investigated while responding to the shots fired call. Deputies said Navarro was in the car shirtless and the boy was naked when they were found. Both allegedly admitted to be preparing to have intercourse in the car when they were found.

Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong said while Navarro was associated with the Carson City Little League, this incident does not appear to have any connection to the league.

Furlong said Little League executive officials were informed of the incident.

According the arrest report, the boy told deputies that he allegedly met Navarro two months ago on a social website and has had sexual intercourse with Navarro at his residence.

Navarro was arrested on suspicion of felony statutory sexual seduction, felony committing certain sexual acts in public, and indecent or obscene exposure, according to the arrest report.

On the Carson City Little League website, it lists Navarro with the 2014-2015 Board Members as the player agent for the AA/AAA teams.

Navarro was a newly hired Justice Court clerk, and his access to court facilities have been removed, Furlong said. He said court officials have indicated that Navarro is expected to be terminated from employment.

Bail was set at $17,500. Furlong said he posted bail as of Saturday afternoon.
