It was a clean sweep for Tony Taylor.

The Hobby Stock driver picked up a pair of wins Saturday at Rattlesnake Raceway in the Hobby Stock Challenge with victories in his preliminary heat and the main event.

While Taylor earned the sweep, Shane Cazel made had the biggest leap, while Dave Ausano tumbled out of the top spot in the points standings.

Cazel overcame an 11-point deficit going into the race with a fourth-place finish in the main event, while Ausano finished 21st.

As a result of the prelim and main heats, Cazel vaulted himself into the points lead with 172. Chris Christiano, meanwhile, holds a one-point lead over Ausano and Cody Morris (167-166) for second place after taking eighth on Saturday.

Also in the chase for the points title are Dennis Buehn (160) and Jeff Tuttle (155), who sit in fifth and sixth, respectively. Buehn also had a big day as he won his prelim heat and took second in the main event.

Morris, though, took seventh, but Tuttle struggled and missed the top 10 as he took 12th.

In other action, Robert Miller swept his two races as he took the checkered flag in the IMCA division in his first race of the season.

Malen Gonzalez, meanwhile, finished second in the prelim and main event to increase his lead to 175-162 over defending points champ Zach Cail.

Cail struggled with a third-place finish in his prelim and an eighth-place mark in the main event.

Royce Getz, who sits in third in the points chase, was disqualified to stay at 141 points.

The next points and karts race comes next weekend during Octane Fest on June 13-14.
