Bryce Moyle and John Holton scattered nine hits, and Holton and Abel Carter drove in two runs apiece to lead the Carson Blue Jays to an impressive 7-1 win over the Reno Knights Sunday at Ron McNutt Field.
Carson improved to 9-5 in summer play.
Moyle worked the first 5.1 innings, allowing a run and five hits. Holton worked the final 3.2 and allowed just four hits. The duo combined for eight strikeouts and more importantly didn’t walk a batter.
A bases-loaded walk to Jared Barnard and a single by Connor Pradere gave Carson an early 2-0 lead, and Holton’s single made it 3-0 after three. Holton added another run-scoring hit in the fifth to make it 4-0.
Holton went 3-for-5, while Jace Keema and Carter added two hits each.
