Nevada Republicans host presidential roundup at Stateline

The Nevada Republican Alliance announces the First in the West Presidential Roundup to be held at The Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys on Aug. 22.

Invited candidates include Gov. Jeb Bush, Dr. Ben Carson, Gov. Chris Christie, Sen. Ted Cruz, Ms. Carly Fiorina, Sen. Lindsey Graham, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. Rand Paul, Gov. Mike Pence, Gov. Rick Perry, Sen. Marco Rubio, Sen. Rick Santorum and Gov. Scott Walker.

“Our 7,500 visitors can look forward to expressing their preference for the Republican nomination for president in 2016,” spokesman for the Nevada Republican Alliance Shawn Meehan said. “This is expected to be the largest straw poll of the entire election season with results published nationally.”

Republicans are learning social media has become essential to successful elections.

“We are encouraging Republican committees across the nation to join us with social media to sell tickets via our affiliate program,” Meehan said. “Affiliates will earn a healthy commission on online ticket purchases they refer to help their committee for the 2016 election season. We plan to expand this program to news websites, blogs, email newsletters, and other media that feel our event would appeal to their audience.”

The event website includes a blog page for regular updates on the affiliate program and changes in candidates. Anyone may subscribe to free email updates on those postings.
