The Nevada 150 Foundation is continuing its celebration of Nevada’s sesquicentennial by donating hundreds of books and merchandise to state museums, state park gift shops and state and county libraries.
More than a hundred copies of “Nevada: 150 Years in the Silver State” are being donated to public libraries. Most of the books are available to check out now, but deliveries are still being made through the end of the month.
The book, published by Stephens Press and distributed by the University of Nevada Press, is the official commemorative book of the Nevada Sesquicentennial. More than 70 Nevada writers captured the state’s rich history, diverse culture and amazing places. Their words accompanied by hundreds of photographs depicting Nevada’s gritty past, desert vistas and urban splendor.
Gifts shops at state museums and parks also received donations of Nevada 150 merchandise to sell including “Nevada: 150 Years in the Silver State,” the Sesquicentennial belt buckle and the popular historic playing cards.
