A story of riches and regions from the Comstock to Paris will be told at the Nevada State Museum from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 25, when Gray Brechin will present “Follow the Money: How Nevada’s Comstock Lode Built San Francisco and So Much More.” The talk includes Nevada history, art and architecture, Comstock mining, cultural geography and economics.
Brechin is an historical geographer and the author of “Imperial San Francisco: Urban Power, Earthly Ruin.” He is currently a visiting scholar in the University of California Berkeley’s Department of Geography and founder and project scholar of the Living New Deal Project.
Admission is $8 for adults and free for museum members and anyone 17 and younger.
