The Carson Blue Jays baseball team ovecame a 6-1 deficit by scoring 10 runs in the fourth inning on their way to a 14-9 win over Fernley Friday in the High Sierra Desert Classic at Bishop Manogue High School.
Carson (14-6) improved to 2-0 in the tournament, heading into today in which it will play two games against Burlington at 11:30 a.m. and the Douglas Tigers at 2 p.m., both at Manogue High School.
Fernley scored five runs in the top of the second inning to take a 6-1 lead, but the Blue Jays answered with 10 runs in the fourth to go up 12-6. Among the offensive leaders for Carson were Abel Carter, who had four hits and Cody Azevedo, who had three hits and four RBI.
