A joint meeting of Carson City’s Board of Supervisors and School District Board of Trustees will dig Thursday into the Digitorium and jump into the Jump Start Program.
The 6 p.m. session in the Sierra Room at the Carson City Community Center, 851 E. William St., will feature opening remarks, a public comment period and three items for discussion. The discussion items:
A summary of activities at the Library Digitorium and future uses of that library technology/media center; an update on the school district’s first goal in its strategic plan, called Community in Full Partnership and including educational programs from community partners, and another update on integration into the Jump Start Program of Carson High School and Western Nevada College advancing a manufacturing technician program.
Those three main agenda items will come after the public comment period for citizens, which will be preceded by welcoming remarks from leaders on both boards. Those opening remarks are expected from Joe Cacioppo, vice president of the school board, and Mayor Robert Crowell.
Slated as presenters of the three main agenda items are Molly Walt on the digitorium; Allen Gosselin, Miya MacKenzie and Mike Jackson on the community partnership progress; and Sena Loyd and Emily Howarth on integrating the manufacturing tech program into Jump Start.
