The city of Fallon announced its new Employee of the Quarter is Diana McFadden.
McFadden is an important part of the Convention Center team and a true asset to the city, a city representative said.
She moved to Fallon in 1979 from Thousand Oaks, Calif.
McFadden began her career with the city of Fallon at the Fallon Convention Center in 2012, taking on the temporary, but responsible position of Maintenance and Setup Coordinator. She learned on the job, and very quickly became invaluable for the center’s day-to-day operations, a city representative said. In 2014, McFadden took over the position permanently when Gene Mann, the Maintenance and Setup Coordinator for 25 years, retired.
She is responsible for all of the Convention Center maintenance, repair and client setups, which range from receptions to large meetings and conventions involving audio/visual presentations and complex sound requirements. She also supervises a maintenance worker and community service volunteers.
McFadden has two daughters, Daria and Deanna, and a grandson, Julian.
When she is not at work, McFadden enjoys exploring historical sites in the desert and spending time with her children.
“It feels great to be recognized by the city and have them appreciate the hard work that I do,” she said.
