The Carson Blue Jays scored five runs in the first three innings en route to a6-3 win over the Reno A’s Friday night at Ron McNutt Field.
Carson improved to 18-6 on the summer heading into Monday’s game at Spanish Springs.
The Blue Jays scored three in the first when Connor Pradere was hit by a pitch, advanced to second on Cody Azevedo’s sacrifice bunt, stole third and scored on a passed ball. John Holton and Jace Keema added run-scoring singled.
Carson made it 5-0 in the third when Holton doubled home Joe Nelson, who had reached on a hit by pitch. Keema added another run-scoring single.
The Blue Jays added a run in the fourth when Bryce Moyle singled and came around to score on a single by Kyle Krebs.
Moyle worked the first six innings to pick up the win. He struck out five and walked three before giving way to Derek Schafer, who worked a scoreless seventh.
Pradere and Moyle both went 3-for-3, while Holton and Keema added two hits apiece.
