Griener 12th in nation at rodeo

After the dust settled, one of Fallon youngest and best cowboys stood tall.

T.J. Griener capped a fantastic weekend at the Junior High School National Finals Rodeo with a 12th-place finish in saddle bronc steer riding.

He was 14th in the second go and ninth overall after the first two gos. His final ride carried him into the top 12 at the rodeo in Des Moines, Iowa.

In addition, Griener and partner Payton Feyder of Elko took 26th in team roping. Feyder, meanwhile, finished second overall in pole bending.

Jayden Jensen of the Fallon Rodeo Club was 66th in pole bending and 50th in rifle shoot with 140 points. In pole bending, she had runs of 21.2 and 22.002 seconds.

Jace McEwen of Fallon also had a solid rodeo, although in the second go he missed the calf in tie-down roping leaving him in 46th place after the two runs. In team roping, he and his partner finished with a time of 25.09 and in 56th place.

Ashley Puccetti-Price, also of Fallon, took 38th in pole bending with runs of 22.103 and 21.86.
