Humbert Joseph “John”Ciardella

Humbert Joseph “John” Ciardella, Jr., passed away Sunday March 8th, 2015 in Fallon, Nevada. He was born December 20, 1929 in Reno, Nevada to Humbert and Julia Fleming Ciardella. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, former Reno Police officer, Nevada Highway Patrolman and retired as the Deputy Director of the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles. He is survived by his wife Mary Jane, daughters SheryLynn (Ted) Orsua, Julie (Steve) Loyd, In laws Bill and Sue Garrett, Mike Garrett and Betty Garrett, cousin Roberta Silker, grandchildren Chris, Ariel and Spencer Loyd, great grandchildren Steven Loyd, Elena Marie Loyd and Ialani Rose Colter. A memorial mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fallon on Friday March 13, at 10AM. Inurnment with military honors will follow at the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Fernley at Noon. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home-Fallon 423-2255.
