The Nevada Department of Wildlife has started accepting applications for big game hunting tags for the upcoming season.
The application period that opened on Tuesday closes April 20.
Separate tags are required for mule deer, elk, pronghorn antelope, mountain goat, black bear and three species of bighorn sheep — desert, California and Rocky Mountain.
Deer, elk and antelope offer options for one male and one female of each species. Different tags are required for traditional rifles, muzzle loaders and archery.
The state also is offering again this year combination tags that allow in some specific areas for the simultaneous hunting of a mule deer and a female elk. There’s also one that allows a chance to hunt a cow elk while also hunting a bull elk.
