Fallon cowboys, cowgirls solid at Fernley rodeo

The Fallon rodeo club had a solid opening performance two weeks ago in Fernley.

On March 14, Blain Jensen and partner Jake Cerini (Lovelock) won the team roping and Jensen placed ninth in tie down roping.

Jes Tews placed sixth in the tie down roping and 10th in reined cow horse. Cord Hendrix and Caleb Hendrix placed fourth in team roping, while Caleb Hendrix took 10th in tie down.

Mackay Spyrow finished eighth in team roping with partner Jordan Taylor (Moapa).

For the girls, Leighton Beyer took second in barrel racing and third in pole bending. Sydney Felton was fourth in barrels, while Joleen Weir placed sixth in barrels and breakaway roping.

On March 15, Spyrow took fifth in tie down roping and Spyrow and Taylor finished sixth in team roping. Caleb Hendrix placed sixth in tie down and fourth in team roping with Cord Hendrix.

Felton was ninth in breakaway, while Beyer placed seventh in goat tying, ninth in barrels and fifth in pole bending. Jensen and Cerini took fifth in team roping, while Jessica Gomes placed 10th in the reined cow horse.

In the junior high division, Jayme Waggoner placed sixth in the barrels, fourth in breakaway and 10th in goat tying on March 14. Chloe Lambert was fifth in the breakaway and third in goat tying.

Amanda Carey won the team roping with partner Triton Desmond, while Jayden Jensen placed ninth in barrels, eighth in breakaway and second in poles. Hayley Duke placed fifth in Breakaway.

On March 15, Waggoner placed fourth in barrels and second in pole bending. Lambert won the goat tying, while Carey placed fourth.

Jensen won the pole bending, was third in ribbon roping and placed sixth in team roping. Leta Ikonen placed ninth in the goat tying, and Ashley Puccetti-Price placed eighth in the poles.

The next rodeo will be the Fallon Rodeo April 11th and 12th at the Churchill County Fairgrounds.
