Five relays and two individuals will represent the Fallon swim team at this week’s state meet in Carson City.
The Greenwave had a solid showing at last week’s Northern Division I-A regional meet as the Lady Wave placed fourth with 189.5 points. Truckee won the title with 405 followed by South Tahoe (202) and Lowry (195).
The Fallon boys, meanwhile, finished sixth with 144 points. South Tahoe won the championship with 281, while Sage Ridge and Truckee tied for second with 258.
The state meet begins Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Carson Aquatic Facility.
Fallon qualified all three of its relays — one for the girls and two for the boys — while Kyle Grimes qualified for two individual events.
Grimes earned bids in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle. The senior took second in the 50 free (23.49) and third in the 100 (52.94).
The Lady Wave’s relay was solid as well as the 400 free relay squad of Amber Revels, Danielle Brown, Sierra Bivens and Katrina Katrina Ward placed third (4:35.15).
Individually, Ward was fifth in 200 free (2:24.89) and 100 butterfly (1:14.05), while Revels placed seventh in 100 butterfly (1:16.72). Nemeth was sixth in 100 backstroke (1:15.84).
For the boys, Christian Nemeth was seventh in the 200 individual medley (2:31.74) and fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:14.80).
Kendall Rogers, meanwhile, was seventh in the 100 back (1:19.05) and Nathan Narag took eighth in 200 free (2:24.17).
The relay teams, though, added a bit more depth to the state roster for the Fallon boys.
In the 200 free relay, Nemeth, Narag, Isaac Kelsey and Grimes finished fourth (1:43.84), while the 400 free relay team of Kelsey, Narag, Nemeth and Grimes was third (3:56.99).
