Tommie Dee Lindsey, 73, of Stagecoach, Nevada passed away at home on May 16th of 2015 surrounded by family. Tommie was born near Batesville, Arkansas on Feb. 4th, 1941 to Glendabelle and T.D. Lindsey. The family moved to California in 1946. He graduated from Nordhoff High School in Ojai Valley in 1960. While attending Ventura College he was in the Navy SEABEE ROTC program. During the Cuban missile crisis he was called up for service in the Pacific Fleet on the aircraft carrier, Coral Seas. He studied Civil Engineering at San Jose State from 1964- 1966. Tommie was a lifelong member of the Operating Engineer Local 3 where he worked as a surveyor and heavy equipment operator specializing in dredging operations and underwater projects. He was a licensed pilot who loved to fly his own airplane. Tommie was a member of the following associations: Experimental Aircraft Association, Tahoe/Douglas Elks #2670, Sons and Daughters of Erin, and Hilltop Community Church. He is survived by his wife of 45 years Marilyn (Seright) Lindsey, their four children Brian Lindsey, Shawn Lindsey, Corey Lindsey and Bonnie (Lindsey) Hemness and twelve grandchildren John, Jordan, Brianna, Hannah, Henry, Grace, Noah, Trinity, Evan, Luke, Erin and Emma. He is also survived by his sister Patricia( Lindsey) Bertram. Tommie was a caring, contentious, faithful, persistent, sacrificing, nice guy who always had a story to tell. He was the best example of how to be a great father and husband. A graveside service at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, 5400 Valentine Rd. Ventura, California will be held on Thursday, May 28th at 1:00pm. The memorial service in Carson City will be 2 pm Sat. June, 6th at Hilltop Church, 3588 Romans Rd. Carson City, Nevada
