The Carson City Republican Women presented three $1,000 scholarships to Carson High School seniors Morgan Tingle, Nolan Shine and Kylie Schmid, all of who are planning on attending Nevada colleges.
The group has presented two scholarships to area seniors for more than 20 years. This year the group broke its own rule and decided, based on the quality of the finalists, to award three scholarships.
The CCRW Scholarship Committee included: Laurel Stadler, chair; Barbara Sweeting; Sandy Markoe; Mary Burgoon; Tawnya Milligan and Shirley Walls.
