Northern Nevada Development Authority announced Wednesday a Carson City property has been designated as the first to be ready under the Nevada Certified Site program.
It’s a 46 acre site near the Carson City Airport on Arrowhead Drive. according to the authority, which also is known as NNDA.
The program is designed to provide critical decision making information to business owners and site selectors, helping them make informed choices about locations by cutting through due diligence red tape ahead of time, handling permit and other details before a sale. To be designated, property owners must prove their land meets 35 different requirements and benchmarks, which could help lure businesses into the community.
“It took a lot of work from all those involved to put the program together,” said Rob Hooper, NNDA executive director, “so it is encouraging to see it succeed in certifying the first property.”
The Arrowhead Drive property is zoned for industrial use and consists of six parcels the seller will consider moving separately, if need be. The site is particularly suited to businesses dealing with aerospace or aviation, according to Carson City-based NNDA.
