Dead. Lambright fell from a bucket at the Crown Point shaft and died. He was a brother to the wife of Lieutenant Governor Crossman.

Artesian Wells. Another new and large artesian well borer came into Sierra Valley as ranchers are determined to bring up the water in the strata down from 2,000 feet. These wells save in feed, as the water is warm in some of them. Sierra Valley raised potatoes are plentiful at 1 1/2 cents per pound wholesale and in a year or so will raise cabbage, parsnips, and onion instead of importing them.

All sorts. Sen. Fred Dangberg and his auto were about town in running order. Just received at Meyers Merc. Co. a carload of choice Oregon Apples. Ed Burlington, who has been laid up, is on the street. Ed is a hard one to keep down.

70 Years Ago

Fletcher brothers. Two Carson City brothers met again in their hometown while celebrating Armistice Day. They are the sons of Mrs. F. W. Fletcher, 411 W. Fifth. Robert Fletcher is a graduate of Carson City high school, class of 1933. He entered the Seabees and saw service in North Africa and the Philippines. Donald W. Fletcher, went into the amphibious force of the Navy. His service had been in the Pacific where he participated in seven major invasions.

50 Years Ago

Red space station. The Soviet Union launched an unmanned space station towards Venus. Tass, the official Soviet news agency, said the space probe was nearly 34,800 miles from the earth.

20 Years Ago
