Carson City Mayor Robert Crowell released the following statement about Veterans Day:
“On this day, November 11, 2015, we pay tribute to all those who wear and have worn the uniform in the service of their country. On this day we also pay tribute to the families and friends of our veterans who provide both needed and grateful support to our service members.
Importantly, today is a day to remember that there are men and women in the armed forces serving and fighting in faraway places in the cause of protecting the freedoms we enjoy in America.
Today is a day when we pray for their safe return.
Today is a day when we pause to reflect upon the tremendous sacrifice that our veterans have made in the defense of our country, many of whom have been gravely wounded.
Today is a day to reflect upon our shared obligation to care for our veterans.
Today is a day to remind us that we must never forget the sacrifices our veterans have made to keep us safe so that we may savor and enjoy the fruits of our wonderful country.
God bless our veterans and all those who provide them with loving care and understanding.”
