Every Thanksgiving for over 38 years, Christian Life Center offers a Thanksgiving dinner with its congregation.
As they have done for several years, the church also invites the community to join them again for a Thanksgiving meal at the Fallon Convention Center on Nov. 22 from noon-3 p.m.
Christian Life Center served more than 850 people last year at the dinner, which included not only church members but also invited guests, Navy personnel and community residents. CLC is expecting to serve more than 950 this year.
According to CLC, many congregation volunteers will help with greeting, serving, kitchen service and table and kitchen clean-up. The youth group from Christian Life Center and the Churchill County High School Navy Junior ROTC will be helping with table set-up, bussing and clean-up. Several men from the church volunteer each year to cook the turkeys.
The meal will be purchased, cooked and served by the congregation, and the menu consists of turkey, dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce and rolls, as well as a variety of desserts.
To ensure there is room for all who attend, members of the community and Navy service members and their families are invited at noon and the church congregation will eat at 2 p.m.
