The city of Fallon has kicked off Live Local Fallon, a community-wide engagement program that rewards residents for shopping and eating locally.
For the third straight year, Live Local Fallon encourages residents to shop and eat locally and rewards them with a chance to win monthly prizes and the grand prize, a Sandstorm T250SLC Toy Hauler trailer, which will be given away at the end of the program in July 2016.
“The city has created this passport program for residents and businesses to stimulate the local economy, increase sales tax, grow new business, and highlight the diversity of businesses in Fallon,” said Rick Gray, executive director of the Fallon Convention and Tourisum Authority and program director. “This is a tangible way for residents and businesses to benefit by keeping money in the local economy.”
Residents can pick up a Live Local Fallon Passport at Fallon City Hall, the Fallon Chamber of Commerce, the Fallon Convention Center and many participating businesses. Gray said residents use their passports to collect stamps from participating businesses when shopping (one “Shop” stamp for a $10 purchase) or eating out (one “Eat” stamp for a $7 purchase). Each completed passport page is an entry into the monthly prize and grand prize drawings.
“Participating businesses are supporting the effort by donating prizes to be given away each month,” Gray said. “Monthly drawing winners will be able to choose a prize from the Prize Catalog which will be on www.LiveLocalFallonNV.com soon.”

The program rewards large purchases, too. Bonus page entries are given for purchases from $250 to $1,000 or more, thus increasing participants’ chances of winning prizes.
Residents can earn a free “Wildcard Play” stamp, too, by attending a Live Local Fallon community event.
