Smith’s asking customers to help local food banks

Through Dec. 28, Smith’s Food & Drug customers can add a $1, $5 or $10 donation to their grocery orders to help local food banks this holiday season.

In addition to cash support, each day Smith’s stores donate nutritious but unsellable foods to local food banks. In 2014 enough food was contributed to create 8,000 more meals every day for families and individuals served through food bank and pantry networks. Grants available to fund business trade mission

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development is working on a new trade mission to Poland and China planned in May 2016.

The office is reaching out to Nevada companies to let them know about its State Trade Export Promotion Grant, or STEP Grant, funding that’s available to help companies with their international efforts and participation in the trade mission.

The program is administered by the U.S. Small Business Administration. Companies that would like to apply or learn more can go to http://www.diversifynevada.com/selecting-nevada/global/step-grant.
