A comedian who was recently named a judges’ favorite on NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” is visiting the Carson Nugget.
Justin Rivera, who can be seen on “Fast Track to Fame” on the Speed Channel and “The Gong Show” on Comedy Central, is performing at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4.
Rivera’s 21-year career includes opening performances for comedians Jo Koy, Russell Peters and Rex Navarrete. His act encourages audience participation. Tickets cost $13 in advance and $15 on the day of the show.
Live comedy performances at the Carson Nugget are set to follow Rivera’s.
Paul Ogata, a winner of the San Francisco International Comedy Competition, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11. Ogata’s act draws on his Japanese-American upbringing. The comedian appeared on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham” and “Comics Unleashed” as well as Showtime’s “Pacific Rim Comedy.” He said he uses improvisation to make each show different than the last. Tickets cost $13 in advance and $15 on the day of the show.
Sean Peabody, who opened for Robin Williams, Eddie Griffin and John Witherspoon will perform at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18.
A Christmas performance by Rodger Lizaola, a champion of the Renton Comedy Contest and a finalist in the San Francisco and Seattle international comedy competitions, is planned at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 25.
Jesus Trejo, who said he uses a fusion of characters, storytelling and physical comedy, performs at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, and 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 1. Trejo was a recurring character on the TBS sitcom “Sullivan & Son.” He recently performed on “Adam Devine’s House Party” for Comedy Central and “Stand Up & Deliver” on NUVOtv. Tickets for the 7 p.m. performance on Dec. 31 cost $15 in advance and $20 on the day of the show. The cost for the 9:30 p.m. performance on Dec. 31 is $18 in advance and $23 on the day of the show. Tickets cost $13 in advance and $15 on the day of the show for the Jan. 31 performance.
