The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles is warning the public to avoid the crowds at the DMV on the day before Thanksgiving, today, and the day after Thanksgiving weekend.
The NDMV said the DMV offices will be closed Nov. 26-29, and the Monday following Thanksgiving is usually the single busiest day of the year. The DMV recommends customers pick another day to take care of license and registration needs or to choose an alternative method to conduct DMV business.
The DMV added registration cancellation and online vehicle movement permits to its website this year. The online services also include address changes, registration renewals and driver history printout. They can also register newly-purchased vehicles online as well. In addition to the online services, customers can also visit self-service kiosks at most DMV offices and at 26 supermarkets and other partner locations across the state.
“The good news is the DMV offers more than two dozen online services and keeps adding more,” said Interim Director Terri L. Albertson. “You should check our website and see if you can get it done online or at a kiosk.”
