Nevada clawed its way to 3-1 with an 85-82 double overtime victory at Pacific (0-3) on Saturday night, their first win against Pacific on the road since 2005.
After four games on the road to start their season, the Pack is hosting Portland State tonight at 7 p.m.
The Wolf Pack’s win over Pacific was their second win in Stockton, Calif., in the last 15 games and snapped a three-game losing skid to the Tigers, which left the Pack three wins away from Reno this season.
Nevada won the rebounding battle 61-55 and has out-rebound opponents in every game this season. Senior guard Marqueze Coleman scored a game-high 31 points. It was his second 30 plus point game in a row after his career-high 34 at Hawai`i on Monday.
Coleman has scored in double figures in all four games this season, with 15 of his points in overtime (eight in the first overtime and seven in the second overtime period) in his 50 minutes of play.
Senior AJ West posted his third double-double of the season with 11 points and a game-high 16 rebounds, a personal best this season while Junior guard D.J. Fenner finished with 14 points as he has reached double figures in every game this season. While the upperclassmen found their groove, freshman Cameron Oliver made his first career start and finished with eight points and eight rebounds, while freshman Lindsey Drew returned after missing the Hawaii game with an ankle injury, and started his third game of the season with 35 minutes of play.
