The Wild Horse Children’s Theater is putting on a production of “Babes in Toyland” for Carson City Dec. 4-13.

The holiday story features a host of Mother Goose characters including Miss Mary Quite Contrary, Bo-Peep, Peter Piper and the famous March of the Wooden Soldiers.

“It is a holiday classic and we wanted to do something different this year and no one has done that show here for a long time,” said executive director Carol Scott. “It is a nice start to the holiday season and it is a great way for people to come and support the arts in Carson City.”

The show has nearly 70 youths from and around Carson City working on the production on and off stage; from the actors who are as young as four years old, to the behind the scenes techs who work with the lighting and sound.

And as a special surprise, after each production, Santa will stay and take free pictures with the children and pass out a holiday treat.

The show will run every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from Dec. 4-13 at the Brewery Arts Center Performance Hall. Shows are Friday and Saturday night at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 for general admission, $8 for seniors and students and $5 for ages 4-12. They can be purchased online at www.wildhorsetheater.com, by calling the box office at 775-887-0438 or available at the door.
