The Nevada State Prison Preservation Society’s annual membership meeting will start at 10 a.m. Saturday in the old prison’s courtroom.
The meeting is open to members and nonmembers and will include a presentation about development of historic prisons across the country, as well as reports about the group’s progress.
NSPPS is a nonprofit volunteer organization working to preserve the 1862-built prison, located on Fifth Street near Highway 395, as a museum and landmark. More information about the group, including an application to join, is at www.nspps.org.
