AG Laxalt to speak at CEDA breakfast

Attorney General Adam Laxalt is this month’s guest speaker at the Churchill Economic Development Authority Business Council Breakfast.

The breakfast begins at 6:45 a.m. on Wednesday at Stockman’s. To reserve a seat at the breakfast call CEDA at 775-423-8587 or email Deborah@ceda-nv.orgl before 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Special Assistant Attorney General Patricia D. Cafferata will also be in attendance.

Laxalt, elected as Nevada’s 33rd Attorney General earlier this year, makes him the youngest in the country.

A former lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, he was trained trained as a prosecutor and legal adviser. Laxalt served his country as a Judge Advocate General. While in the Navy, he volunteered to serve in a combat zone in Iraq at Forward Operating Base Camp Victory. Laxalt’s team was in charge of more than 20,000 detainees during the Surge, keeping U.S. troops and the world safer by assisting with the detention and prosecution of thousands of war criminals and terrorists.

Laxalt served as a special assistant U.S. attorney, as an assistant professor of law in the Leadership, Ethics and Law Department at the U.S. Naval Academy, and as a special adviser to the Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, John R. Bolton.

Throughout his time in military and government service, he worked to put Americans’ security first.

Prior to becoming the Attorney General, Laxalt was in private practice in Las Vegas, solving problems for a wide array of Nevadans and their businesses.
