Joan Madeline Harris Baker

Joan passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 8, 2015 in Hemet, CA at the age of 81. Joan was born and raised in the Kelso-Longview WA area and moved to San Diego as a young bride in 1954. She was predeceased by her husband Dwain Allen Baker, parents Chester and Madeline (Merring) Harris and brothers Warren and Lewis Harris. She is survived by her children Vicky Bennett, Suzanne (Matthew) Sample, Dwain Allen Baker, Jr., Edward Baker, Jeanine (Jeffrey) Wittenberg and Kathleen McKee. Grandchildren Brian and Brent (Kristen) Bennett, Phillip (Sarah), Neil and Reid (Michelle) Sample, Ryan (Katy) Gibson, Michael and Derek (Casey) Shoaf, Kyle McKee and Justine (Allen) Montgomery. Great-grandchildren Sean and Ethan Bennett; Kaitlyn, Emily and Ryder Sample. She enjoyed trips into the Anza-Borrego Desert, time spent at Picacho State Recreation Area on the Colorado River, trips to Las Vegas, countless hours spent with her bingo buddies and visiting with family and friends. Private family services will be held at a later date.
