What the “Good Woman” has done since she was pardoned. About seven months ago a family by the name of Lewis from Pennsylvania arrived in this city. Mr. Lewis got a job at the roundhouse for $115 per month and worked for a month and then collected his pay. That night, feeling pretty flush with his money he went to one of the dance houses which infest this city where he met Mollie Fourshay (continued on Friday).

The Appeal was awarded a diploma by the Nevada Agricultural Society for the best printed pamphlet. The victory was not quite a pronounced as we would have liked, as there was not competition.

Much to the surprise of its friends, Carson went down to defeat in the blue rock shoot yesterday at the hands of the Reno team. The Carson boys can only charge their defeat to bad luck.

Unbearded Lions Taken for Ride in ‘Red Maria.’ The spectacle of Ken Johnson chasing W.L. Cassinella, of First National Bank, down Carson Street in an attempt to put him in “Red Maria” climaxed the regular meeting of the Lions Club today.

James Dunfield, son of Carson City postmaster and Mrs. W.E. Dunfield, will be one of 13 Nevada winners who will receive awards in the 6th annual Nevada Day Historical Essay Contest. “History of the Carson City Post Office” is the title of James’ essay.
