Will they get away with murder

If you are looking for the answer to that question you’ll have to attend CAPS’ annual Murder Mystery Dinner Theater. Tomorrow night at the Convention Center you will have the opportunity to enjoy wonderful food, delightful entertainment and astonishing revelations.

This year’s murder mystery was written specifically for our production by Bob Gabrielli. You won’t want to miss this one because it is cutting edge. Just in case you leave your brain at home Sherlock Hound will be available to help you muddle through the clues and finds the solution. Whatever could go wrong?

Be there to find out who is who and what is happening. There will be bodies, beauties and dog treats. Oh good grief ... dog treats? You will just have to make time to enjoy the excellent story, exceptional actors and of course delicious food.

There may be some tickets available tomorrow morning on a first-come, first-serve basis. Drive by the Convention Center before noon and come on in if it looks like people are “setting the stage” for the evening. Just go inside and ask a volunteer to direct you to the ticket seller(s).

Tickets are only $35 for dinner and an evening o entertainment.

In other news I wrote about caring for dogs teeth in the Oct. column. When I was visiting my sister in Colorado I was lucky to try a product that is formulated to help keep teeth clean between professional cleanings. The cool thing about this product is that you sprinkle it on your pet’s food and that’s all you need to do; headlocks are not needed to brush their teeth.

So far Watson has gobbled up his dinner and I don’t think he is even aware that there is something on the food. It works with dogs or cats and supports gum health by controlling plaque. It also has an added bonus of freshening dog breath. As of now it works because my morning kiss from Watson is much sweeter. I’ll let you know in future articles how well it works. I wonder if they make something for humans?

WHO’S WHO AT CAPS?

Thank you to the Churchill County High School Culinary class for catering our annual Murder Mystery Theater Dinner Theater. We also thank Sandi Fisk for the yummy cupcakes. Kudos go to the culinary class students for their cheerful participation and the Junior ROTC who always help make the event run smoother. CCHS rules! It is a joy for our community to celebrate our no-kill shelter in such a delicious way.

WHO’S NEW AT THE CAPS’ ZOO?

Are you looking for holiday spice? Look no further because, Cinnamon is your girl. She is a beautiful gold-and-white; basset, husky, spaniel and Newfound land mix. How do we know she is all those things? Cinnamon has had her DNA tested and that is how we found out exactly what she is. She is no bigger than a cocker spaniel and she’s as sweet as a cinnamon bun. Put a little spice in your life and come in to meet her.

Finally, our puppies are ready for new homes. We have five boys and two girls. They are adorable, playful and endearing. Come in for your puppy fix. We also have darling kitties, two boys and three girls who need loving homes. Policy, however, prohibits adopting out puppies or kittens under the age of six months to a home with children under five years of age. This is to protect both the children and the animal.

CAPS’ NEWS AND EVENTS

CAPS will be at Walmart on Nov. 21, along with Ki and Urtle at our Kissin’ Booth. Come by and join their fan club. We have plenty of shirts and caps, so please check them out before or after greeting our canine volunteers. Order your 2016 calendar while you are there.

Flower Tree Nursery is again raffling a 15-gallon tree of your choice. The raffle tickets are available at Flower Tree, and they are $1 for one ticket and $5 for six tickets. Be sure to get your tickets soon. The drawing date will be Dec. 6, and the winner doesn’t have to be present to win.
