New Millennium expanding operations in Churchill County

New Millennium Building Solutions is expanding its Fallon operations, according to a press release from Northern Nevada Development Authority.

New Millennium recently began a 2-phase expansion at its current facility and will be hiring up to 17 additional employees during the next six months. New Millennium, a subsidiary of Fort Wayne, Indiana, based Steel Dynamics, Inc., is the second largest provider of steel joists and decking to the United States market and has facilities in 7 states as well as one in Mexico.

New Millennium’s Fallon manufacturing facility is currently one of the single largest primary jobs employers in Churchill County with 185 employees.

“The expansion of New Millennium is the first of many enhancements to the economy in Churchill County,” said Robert Hooper, executive director of Northern Nevada Development Authority. “It is very exciting to see New Millennium expand and thrive in this great community, their successes show others what we already know: Churchill County is a great place to do business.”

The first phase of New Millennium’s expansion looks to hire positions including sales representatives, designers, drafters and engineers. Phase two of the expansion will focus on hiring welders, riggers, production and end traffic positions. The new positions created as a result of the expansion will have benefits and an average wage of $29.28 per hour.

The New Millennium hiring project has been made possible by a partnership between NNDA, Job Connect, Western Nevada College and Churchill County Social Services through funding provided by a Community Development Block grant and a Community Services Block grant award. The project provides workforce training and support for Low to Moderate Income individuals and families to obtain employment.
